Kunstenaars & Co (Artists & Co) is a national organisation that has the mission of helping artists to attain economic independence by practicing their artistic skill. They do this with an extensive range of professionalisation services: courses, workshops, personal coaching, work experience opportunities, events and lectures, websites and ‘De Kunstenaarslijn’ (The Artist’s Line). Studio Kluif designs the course brochures for Kunstenaars & Co, has developed the design for the returning ‘Startfactory’ event and has come up with the ‘Bel Co’ campaign. In 2007 Studio Kluif designed a ‘reversible’ annual report that can be transformed into an art’s catalogue after the pages have been folded back.

Startfactory events take place in an empty factory. There the Startfactory crew organise meetings between artists and potential clients and also between artists themselves. At the events there are workshops, speed coaching sessions, performances and much more.

Kunstenaars & Co ‘Reversible annual report’, 2007
Reversible sweater, reversible coat, reversible sleeping bag... reversible annual report! Studio Kluif developed a reversible annual report for Kunstenaars & Co. The report has a business side which is soberly designed and its reverse is a freshly designed art catalogue. After reading the business side you can flip the pages over and there’s the catalogue. It is an annual report with a second life!

A mail shot for young artists to incentivise them to join a career coaching programme. The envelope has a dotted line that was punctured across the artists’ portraits so that opening the envelope is literally pulling open their heads.

Co is a call centre where artists can get specific information and general support. Kluif designed a mobile sock as publicity for this new project. The sock has a convenient label with the Co number so the user always has the number within reach.
