Studio Kluif is responsible for the graphic design of the extensive record of Sprangers Bouwbedrijf: Het Fundament. The history of Sprangers is displayed, in words and pictures, and placed in the history of Brabant, the Netherlands and even the world. Bis Publishers Indie Brands book i.c.w. Supernova, 2011

Indie Brands: 30 independent brands that inspire and tell a story
Indie Brands delves into the world of independent brands. The book shows the creative people behind the brand, the visual eye candy they create, the space they work in and the inspiring items they surround themselves with. The brands literally come from all over the world and vary in size – from one-man brands to medium-sized corporations. And they all sell different products. But as true indie brands they share three important characteristics: they’re independent, they have a story worth sharing and they all understand the magic of marketing.

Some of the brands featured in the book have been around for years, others have only just started, but they all tend to opt for the road less traveled. This not only makes for good stories, but also results in some sound advice from people like Erik Kessels (DO), Jake Nichols (Threadless) and Nalden (WeTransfer) to name but a few. Consider this book an all-access pass into the world of indie brands, which is bound to inspire creative minds and other indie entrepreneurs in the making.

Stella The Hague Zinder festival, 2011

The theme of this edition of the Zinder Festival is symbiosis. Studio Kluif developped all the communication tools for the Zinder Festival. Because there was no money for an expensive poster campaign, Kluif choses just the opposite. At first glance, it looks like simple pasted printouts with messages. Slogans like "Joe 50!" and "Who has seen my cat?". Appearances are deceptive, however, the messages have a twist. The symbiosic images Kluif designed were visible throughout the city of The Hague.

Book ‘Operatie Opvoeden’, 2011

When you think you’ve read all the books about raising children and tried every imaginable parenting course, but your kids still don’t do what you want them to? What’s left? Then you read this book. ‘Operatie Opvoeden’ (Operation Parenting) helps you defining goals and finding the right materials to lead your mission to a successful ending. In this book, military discipline is used as a metaphor for raising your kids. Kluif made a tongue in cheek visual language which is used throughout the entire book. Military graphical references like the target on the cover show the link between the two worlds in a striking way. Mission accomplished.

Book cover ‘Bruid van de Dood’, 2010

For the new novel by Naema Tahir, Bruid van de Dood (Bride of Death), Studio Kluif designed the book cover. Bruid van de Dood tells the story of Sophia, who grows up in a Pakistani family that has settled in Rotterdam. Her parents cling to the Muslim traditions of the country of origin. This also means finding a suitable partner for their daughter. A cousin in London seems the perfect match. The Westernized Sophia feels like the little mermaid in the fairytale of Andersen. She longs for a different world. Does she dare to choose for herself or does she respond to what people ask of her?

Naema Tahir emigrated with her Pakistani parents to The Netherlands when she was ten years old, then lived in Pakistan for two years and returned back to The Netherlands when she was sixteen. She studied law in Leiden and worked as a human rights lawyer for various Dutch ministries, the United Nations and the Council of Europe.
